Well, this is for all those people who dismiss the Amazing Potter series to be kiddish and for those ardent admirers of LOTR who look down upon HP....LOTR might be amazing but HP's no less either :P...
The brilliant lady, J.K.Rowling has wonderfully woven the world of magic with carefully chosen spells, names, and even owls for each of her characters . However, the best part about the world of harry potter is that even wizards and witches are bound by rules (like the dead cannot be brought back by magic), even amongst the magical people there are the good ones and the bad ones, even when they have magic, they go through good and bad times!!! Kudos to JK I SAY...!! *hey that rhymes!*

Here are some of my favourite quotes from the books...Well i know its gonna be a loooong post, which is gonna be lousy for those not-HP-fans/readers,crazy for some others n blah blah. However, it serves two purposes for me, 1. Since am one of those who dont re-read a book for some reason, this will serve as a sorta review 2. When am old and gray,i'll have fun going through this 3. You'll read atleast a little of this ...etc etc. For those of you who are curious and lazy, just go through those quotes which are in bold red ...it'll save your precious time. So, here i start ...muhuhahahahaha!! :D
BOOK-I : HARRY POTTER AND THE PHILOSOPHER'S STONE
Dumbledore: It does not do to dwell on dreams, Harry, and forget to live.
Hermione: Now if you two don't mind, I'm going to bed before either of you come up with another clever idea to get us killed - or worse, expelled.
Ron: She needs to sort out her priorities!
[in the Devil's Snare]
Hermione: Stop moving, both of you. This is devil's snare! You have to relax. If you don't, it'll only kill you faster!
Ron: Kill us faster? Oh, now I can relax!
Hermione: You'll be okay, Harry. You're a great wizard. You really are.
Harry: Not as good as you.
Hermione: Me? Books and cleverness. There are more important things: friendship and bravery. And Harry, just be careful.
Dumbledore: What happened down in the dungeon between you and Professor Quirrell is a complete secret. So, naturally, the whole school knows.
Molly Weasley: [looks at Fred, hoping to get him onto platform 9 3/4] Fred, you next.
George Weasley: He's not Fred, I am!
Fred Weasley: Honestly, woman. You call yourself our mother.
Molly Weasley: [to Fred] Oh, I'm sorry, George.
Fred Weasley: [approaches the barrier] I'm only joking, I am Fred!
[runs through the barrier]
Dumbledore: It takes a great deal of bravery to stand up to your enemies, but a great deal more to stand up to your friends.
Dumbledore: Only a person who wanted to find the Stone - find it, but not use it - would be able to get it. That is one of my more brilliant ideas. And between you and me, that is saying something.
Dumbledore: Harry, do you know why Professor Quirrell couldn't bear to have you touch him?
[Harry shakes his head]
Dumbledore: It was because of your mother. She sacrificed herself for you, and that kind of act leaves a mark.
[Harry reaches up to touch his scar]
Dumbledore: No, no. This kind of mark cannot be seen. It lives in your very skin.
Harry: What is it?
Dumbledore: Love, Harry. Love.
Sorting Hat: Hmm, difficult. VERY difficult. Plenty of courage, I see. Not a bad mind, either. There's talent, oh yes. And a thirst to prove yourself. But where to put you?
Harry: Not Slytherin. Not Slytherin.
Sorting Hat: Not Slytherin, eh? Are you sure? You could be great, you know. It's all here in your head. And Slytherin will help you on the way to greatness, there's no doubt about that. No?
Harry: Please, please. Anything but Slytherin, anything but Slytherin.
Sorting Hat: Well if you're sure, better be... GRYFFINDOR!
BOOK-II: CHAMBER SECRETs
Dumbledore: It is not our abilities that show what we truly are. It is our choices.
Moaning Myrtle: Oh, Harry? If you die down there, you're welcome to share my toilet.
Harry: Uh... thanks, Myrtle. {HARRY'S EVER SO SWEET *DRoools* :P}
BOOK-III: PRISONER OF AZKABAN
Dumbledore: A child's voice, however honest and true, is meaningless to those who've forgotten how to listen.
Sirius Black: I expect you're tired of hearing this, but you look so like your father. Except your eyes. You have...
Harry: My mother's eyes.
Sirius Black: It's cruel that I got to spend so much time with James and Lily, and you so little. But know this; the ones that love us never really leave us. And you can always find them in here.
[puts his hand to Harry's heart]
Dumbledore:you know happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, when one only remembers to turn on the light.
Peter Pettigrew: What would you have done, Sirius?
Sirius Black: I would have died! I would have died rather than betray my friends, as we would have done for you!
[about Sirius]
Harry: When we free him, I'll never have to go back to the Dursley's. It'll just be me and him. We could live in the country, someplace you can see the sky. I think he'll like that after all those years in Azkaban.
BOOK-IV: GOBLET OF FIRE
Ron: [discussing inviting dates to the Yule Ball] This is mad! At this rate, we'll be the only ones in our year without dates! Well, us and Neville. Harry: [laughing] Yeah, but then again he could take himself.
Hermione: It might interest you to know that Neville's already got someone.
Ron: What? Now I'm really depressed. Oi, Hermione... you're a girl.
Hermione: [haughtily] Very well spotted.
Ron: Come with one of us! It's one thing for a bloke to show up alone, but for a girl it's just sad.
Hermione: [angrily] I won't be going alone, because believe it or not, someone's asked me! And I said yes!
[exits]
Ron: Bloody hell. She's lying, right?
Harry: If you say so
BOOK-V: ORDER OF PHOENIX
Harry Potter: Wait... look, it all sounds *great* when you say it like that. But the truth is most of that was just luck. I didn't know what I was doing half the time, I nearly always had help...
Hermione Granger: He's just being modest.
Harry Potter: No, Hermione, I'm not. Facing this stuff in real life is not like school. In school, if you make a mistake you can just try again tomorrow, but out there, when you're a second away from being murdered or watching a friend die right before your eyes... you don't know what that's like.
Harry Potter: How come you're not at the feast?
Luna Lovegood: I've lost all my possessions. Apparently people have been hiding them.
Harry Potter: That's awful!
Luna Lovegood: Oh, it's all good fun. But as this is the last night, I really do need them back.
Harry Potter: Do you want any help finding them?
Luna Lovegood: I'm sorry about your godfather, Harry.
[clasps his hand comfortingly]
Harry Potter: Are you sure you don't want any help looking?
Luna Lovegood: That's all right. Anyway, my mum always said things we lose have a way of coming back to us in the end.
[they look up and see a pair of her shoes hanging from the ceiling arch]
Luna Lovegood: If not always in the way we expect.
Harry Potter: This connection between me and Voldemort... what if the reason for it is that I am becoming more like him? I just feel so angry, all the time. What if after everything that I've been through, something's gone wrong inside me? What if I'm becoming bad?
Sirius Black: I want you to listen to me very carefully, Harry. You're not a bad person. You're a very good person, who bad things have happened to. Besides, the world isn't split into good people and Death Eaters. We've all got both light and dark inside us. What matters is the part we choose to act on. That's who we really are.
Albus Dumbledore: [looking down at Harry that is being tortured by Voldemort in his mind] Harry... It's not how you are alike. It's how you are not...
Sirius Black: It's been 14 years, and still not a day goes by that I don't miss your dad.
Albus Dumbledore: [after Sirius' death] I know how you feel, Harry.
Harry Potter: No you don't.
[pause]
Harry Potter: It's my fault.
Albus Dumbledore: No, the fault is mine. I knew it was only a matter of time before Voldemort made the connection between you. I thought by distancing myself from you, as I have done all year, he'd be less tempted and therefore you might be more protected.
Harry Potter: The prophecy said neither one can live while the other one survives. It means one of us is going to have to kill the other, in the end.
Albus Dumbledore: Yes.
Harry Potter: Why didn't you tell me?
Albus Dumbledore: For the same reason you tried to save Sirius. For the same reason your friends saved you. After all these years, after all you've suffered, I didn't want to cause you any more pain. I cared too much about you.
Harry Potter: [teaching Dumbledore's Army] Working hard is important, but there's something else that's even more important: believing in yourself. Look at it this way: every great wizard in history has started out as nothing more than we are now - students. If they can do it, why not us?
Sirius Black: When all this is over we'll be a proper family. You'll see.
BOOK-VI: HALF BLOOD PRINCE
Arthur Weasley: Times like these, dark times, they do funny things to people. They can tear them apart.
Harry Potter: But, Sir, I thought we weren't allowed to apparate on Hogwarts' grounds.
Albus Dumbledore: Well, being me... has its privileges.
Ron Weasley: [to Hermione and Ginny] He'll be here, soon.
[starts eating]
Hermione Granger: [smacks him on the arm with a book] Will you stop eating? Your best friend is missing!
Ron Weasley: Turn around, you lunatic!
[Hermione and Ginny looks towards the Great Hall door and sees Harry covered in blood]
Ginny Weasley: He's covered in blood again. Why is it he's always covered in blood?
Ron Weasley: Well, it looks like it's his own this time.
[after telling Harry to close his eyes, Ginny hides his book somewhere in the Room of Requirement, then comes back, and gives him a soft kiss on the lips]
Ginny Weasley: That can stay hidden up here too, if you like.
[a short time later, Harry is walking down the hallway, in a daze. Ron appears beside him]
Ron Weasley: So, did you and Ginny do it?
Harry Potter: [alarmed] What?
Ron Weasley: Did you hide the book?
Hermione Granger: How does it feel, Harry? When you see Dean with Ginny?
Harry Potter: [slightly taken aback] Oh. Um...
Hermione Granger: I know. I've seen the way you look at her. You're my best friend.
[Ron bursts in with Lavender, laughing, then sobers when he sees Hermione and Harry]
Lavender Brown: Oops!... I think this room's taken.
[runs off]
Ron Weasley: [awkwardly] ... What's with the birds?
Hermione Granger: [stands, glares at Ron] Oppugno!
[Hermione's flock of birds fly at Ron, who flees the room. Hermione sinks next to Harry and breaks down crying]
Harry Potter: It feels like this.
Lavender Brown: [runs into the hospital wing, after Ron's been poisoned] Where is he? Where's my Won-Won? Has he been asking for me?
[sees Hermione sitting next to Ron's bed]
Lavender Brown: What is she doing here?
Hermione Granger: [stands] I might ask you the same question!
Lavender Brown: I happen to be his girlfriend!
Hermione Granger: Well, I happen to be his... friend.
Lavender Brown: Friend? Don't make me laugh! You haven't spoken in weeks. I guess you want to make up with him now that's he's suddenly all interesting!
Hermione Granger: He's been poisoned, you daft dimbo! And as a matter of fact, I've always found him interesting.
Severus Snape: Has it ever crossed your brilliant mind that I don't want to do this anymore?
Albus Dumbledore: Whether it has or it hasn't is irrelevant; you gave me your word.
Albus Dumbledore: Severus... please...
Severus Snape: [Pointing his wand at Dumbledore] Avada Kedavra!
[Light shoots out of his wand, killing Dumbledore]
BOOK-VII-DEATHLY HALLOWS
(Engraved on Dobby's grave)
Here lies Dobby, a free elf.
Sirius Black
[On being asked if dying hurt] Dying? Not at all. Quicker and easier than falling asleep.
Albus Dumbledore
It is a curious thing, Harry, but perhaps those who are best suited to power are those who have never sought it. Those who, like you, have leadership thrust upon them, and take up the mantle because they must, and find to their own surprise that they wear it well.
Dudley:
- [to Harry] I don't think you're a waste of space. You saved my life.
- Why isn't he [Harry] coming with us?
Albus Dumbledore
Do not pity the dead, Harry, pity the living. Above all, pity those who live without love. By returning you may ensure that fewer souls are maimed and fewer families are torn apart. If that seems to you a worthy goal, then we say goodbye for the present.
Luna Lovegood
(after McGonagall says Lord Voldemort is attacking) Ooh! We can say that name now?
Albus Dumbledore
That which Voldemort does not value, he takes no trouble to understand. Of house-elves and children's tales, of love, loyalty, and innocence, Voldemort knows and understands nothing. Nothing. That they all have a power beyond his own, a power beyond the reach of any magic, is a truth he has never grasped.
Harry Potter
(to Ron and Hermione kissing) Oi! There's a war going on here!
Ronald Weasley
All's fair in love and war, and this is a bit of both.
Ron Weasley
(referring to Draco Malfoy's son) Make sure you beat him in every test, Rosie. Thank God you inherited your mother's brains.
(Engraved on the Potters' grave)
The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.
Mrs.Weasely to bellatrix when she charges on ginny: "Not my Daughter, You B*tch!!!!
"If you’re not in Gryffindor, we’ll disown you," said Ron. "But no pressure." - Ron to his daughter
[Amycus Carrow spits in Professor McGonagall's face and Harry pulls off his invisibility cloak] You shouldn't have done that. [Using Crucio] I see what Bellatrix meant, you need to really mean it.
(when Harry asked why he made the journey so difficult) I am afraid I counted on Miss Granger to slow you up, Harry. I was afraid your hot head would dominate your good heart. I was scared that, if presented outright with the facts of those tempting objects, you would seize them as I did; at the wrong time, for the wrong reasons. If you laid hands on them, I wanted you to possess them safely. You are the true master, because the true master does not run away from Death. He accepts that he must die and knows that there are far, far worse things in the living world than dying
Griphook:
- You are an unusual wizard, Harry Potter.
- If I believe there is a wizard that is not to his own good, that will be you, Harry Potter.
- So young, to be fighting so many.
Neville:
[To Harry, Ron and Hermione] You didn't hear her, you wouldn't have stood it either. The thing is, it helps when people stand up to them, it gives everyone hope. I used to notice that when you did it, Harry.
Snape, Severus
- Hide them all, then. Keep her - them - safe. Please. (In reference to the Potters)
Albus Dumbledore: "No," agreed Dumbledore. "You are a braver man by far than Igor Karkaroff. You know, I sometimes think we sort too soon..." He walked away, leaving Snape looking stricken...
Ron Weasley: He must've known I'd run out on you.
Harry Potter: No...he must've known you'd always want to come back.
Ron Weasley: No, I mean we should tell [the house elves] to get out. We don't want any more Dobbys, do we? We can't order them to die for us -
[Hermione kisses him]
Harry Potter: (weakly) Is this the moment?
[Ron and Hermione don't stop kissing and hug more tightly]
Harry Potter: (annoyed) OI! There's a war going on here!
[Ron and Hermione stop kissing, but continue to hug each other] Ron Weasley: (as though a bludger has hit him) I know, mate, so it's now or never, isn't it?
Minister Scrimgeour: You may wear that scar like a crown, Potter, but it is not up to a seventeen year-old boy to tell me how to do my job! It's time you learned some respect!
Harry: It's time you earned it.
Albus Potter: What if I'm in Slytherin?
Harry Potter: Albus Severus, you are named for two headmasters of Hogwarts. One of them was a Slytherin and he was probably the bravest man I ever knew.
Harry Potter: My father died trying to protect my mother and me, and you reckon he'd tell you to abandon your kid to go on an adventure with us?
Phew!!..Congratulations to me
, i have completed this massive
