For those who never understood RIE...

Whether it be my family or my cosmopolitan best buds or many of my classmates or for that matter, me myself [when in a bad mood ;)], i'm aware that many have not been really able to understand my college or realise its worth or appreciate it..... Now that my RIE life has come to an end, I know what i've lost..... Here's an attempt to let you know what my college is...

Its doesn't have a Lifestyle showroom nearby but has fast food trolleys and panipuri walas...

We don't buy our things from a supermarket but we had "Aunty shop"...a small dingy shop that sells everything, from nameslips to wastebaskets to maggie packets and oil !!!

It doesn't have a Gen X canteen that sells noodles and fried rice but has a spacious canteen that sells nice south indian food that fills your stomach...

Our coll doesnot in any way resemble the new generation maze of buildings...but has parks and trees and lanes that made even DR.A.P.J.Abdul Kalam envy us!!!

We don't go to coll clad in supercool trendy outfits or covered behind a viel of make up but revel in the bliss of having the freedom to wear anything from worn outs to un-ironed clothes coz who cares!!! ;)

I don't have friends who speak cool accent free, english full of slangs, but atleast they don't swear though they know the swear words...:)

We don't have lecturers who hug us and wish us goodmorning but have teachers who even before sleeping think about how to get us interested in organic chemistry ...!!

Me and my friends don't hang out everyother day in  pizza hut or go for movies but end up having a lime or a samosa...all 14 of us!!! I've spent some priceless moments in exchange of at the most fifty rupees!!

We dont go places in a  mopet or a car....but walk and talk and laugh....At the end of the day, our legs may ache but our hearts feel  full and we go to bed with a smile....:)

We have never been to Planet X or Purple Haze in all our four years, but our desperate, long awaited and well  planned for escapades to Cubs or pizza hut or green leaf or No One Killed Jessica remains etched in our memory forever...

We've never thrown huge parties at our homes for each other but the degree of warmth, love and effort to make each other comfortable at our homes...i've NEVER seen elsewhere...

We dint go in VOLVOS to each others homes...but thouroughly enjoyed the war for finding seats in transport buses and later semi-flying in seats while the bus jumped over speed breakers..!!

We never bought very expensive B'Day gifts but it was real fun running behind everyone for 24 or 27Rs after every b'day!!!

We din't have super cool fluid dances or moonwalks on stage but the efforts we took to learn classical dances and the whistels we blew for tribal dances are unforgettabe... and inspite of it all, it was WE who walked off with prizes EVERY YEAR  at AIISH AWAAZ, the annual supercool intercollege cultural and literary extravaganza!!!

The guys in our coll may not be metro-sexual , some may not even talk to girls but they are sweet enough to snatch our heavy suitcases from us on our tours and carry it for us...
They may not have any idea how to impress and manipulate girls but they are guys who still believe in true love and in marrying their girls...

Most of us cannot afford an extravagant tour, but thanks to our coll, we went all over India and Karnataka with each other, and experienced everything...from getting lost to bargaining to fighting with fellow passengers and classmates to preventing a whole train from sleeping!!! :D

My bbbest friends never gave extravagant treats or gifts but they gave me true friendship perhaps thicker than blood...

They didn't buy me farewell gifts but they cried their hearts out for me..

I could go on and on...but perhaps i may end up making u bored than making you understand.....
Perhaps i've already done exactly that.... ;)

So, i conclude here...

I may not have had the typical Kuch kuch hota hain sorta college life with Lee T-shirts and a funny Principal but I've had a simple, wholesome transforming experience that has only brought me nearer to God and my family and all things good. I've seen envy, selfishness, pride, politics, regionalism, betrayal, spite and double faces as much as i've seen sincerity, dedication, pure unadulterated love, hope, kindness, friendship, principles, and Immense faith....

Seasons ..... 't was Spring for me :)

As always...Im indebted to God for placing me at the right time in the right place with the right set of people!! Kudos to his thoughtfulness and precision!!!!

GOD TUSSI GREAT HO!!! SHUKRIYA!!!!
